FLOOD IN LAGOS

The Rainy season in Nigeria took a new turn today as it fell throughout the day in most parts of Lagos especially on the Island. Most places and streets were flooded, everyone staying in doors for safety. Lots of cars have been submerged in the flood as one begins to imagine the number of lives that must have been lost, accidents that would have occurred and properties that would have been lost to this flood.
Come to think of it, Lagos isn’t the only city that has witnessed extreme flooding before, even some of the top cities in the world also do.

Nigerians need to be given proper orientation  on how not to throw dirt, empty bottles, cans, paper, nylon and unwanted materials on the road or in the gutter, little wonder why the gutters get filled up easily.

Please lets all do our bit in keeping Lagos clean, look for the nearest bin and throw away your dirt or hold it with you till you get down from the bus or cab and throw it in the appropriate place, this would go a long way in reducing the level of flood during rainfall.
