Soulja Boy buys himself new private jet as birthday gift
Soulja Boy has celebrated his 21st birthday in style, snapping up a $55 million private G5 jet. The rapper, who rose to fame with his 2007 debut album 'Souljaboytellem.com', also threw himself an exclusive birthday bash on Friday (29th July 2011).Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, splashed out $35 million on the jet but has ambitious plans to spend an additional $20 million on extras. His management claim the rapper will add 12 custom Italian leather seats, flat screen TV's, 4 liquor bars, a special travertine tiled floor and Brazilian hardwood cabinets. He is also removing the jet's in-flight lavatory and replacing it with a luxurious bathroom. The G5 will also undergo a complete paint job, complete with the rapper's logo emblazoned on the side. In addition, Soulja is also spending $300,000 to throw himself a "blowout birthday party" at a Miami nightclub tonight, with the likes of Bow Wow, Dwight Howard and Sean Kingston all expected to attend.
Soulja Boy released his third studio album 'The DeAndre Way' on 27th November 2010. The record sold just 13,360 copies in its first week - a significant drop from his two previous efforts.

Florida murderer caught 32 years after prison escape
Authorities on Wednesday captured a man in Colorado who escaped nearly 32 years ago from the Florida prison where he was serving a life sentence for murder.
Frederick Barrett, 60, slipped away from the Union Correctional Institution in Raiford during a night time power outage on August 17, 1979.
U.S. Marshals Service officers, dressed as U.S. Forest Service fire fighters, arrested Barrett early on Wednesday at his cabin in Montrose County, Colorado. He had been living in the remote, mountainous area under the name Neil Meltzer, Florida officials said.
A tattoo of a cross and dot on his right hand helped officers confirm they had the right man, said Steve Davenport, a special agent supervisor for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Davenport said investigators had been looking for Barrett in earnest since 2009, when a new fugitive initiative in Florida set its sights on finding a dozen long-term prison escapees with violent histories.
"It's really, really difficult to track somebody who's been out 30 years," Davenport told Reuters. "The trail was cold."
But using public records and databases, investigators found evidence Barrett had travelled to Hawaii, California, Tennessee and Maryland since his escape and eventually appeared to settle in Colorado.
In addition to escape charges in Florida, Barrett now faces drug and gun charges in Colorado after marshals found a marijuana grow house and multiple firearms in his home, officials said.
Barrett was convicted of killing a travelling companion on the Florida Turnpike in February 1971.
According to officials, he choked Carl Ardolino from behind as Ardolino was driving. Barrett and another man then stopped the car, carried Ardolino to a shallow ditch filled with water and held his head underneath until he died.
Margaret Archer, Ardolino's niece, said her 26-year-old uncle had picked the men up at a rest stop as he drove from New Jersey to Florida for a vacation.
The deceased man's family members welcomed the news of Barrett's capture after so many years.
"Unbelievable," Archer said. "We were thrilled to say the least."
Reader, I need you all to imagine this scenario in Nigeria. The authorities would have forgotten about the deadly man and leave him to keep roaming the streets while they arrest other innocent citizens in his place.

A one-year-old boy in India has broken a world record after being born with 34 fingers and toes.Akshat Saxena had seven fingers on each hand and ten toes on each foot, according to a spokesman for Guinness World Records.
The child, from Uttar Pradesh in northern India, has since had a series of surgeries to amputate the excess digits. Akshat was born last year without thumbs so doctors are working to reconstruct these out of the fingers they have removed.
His mother Amrita Saxena said: 'I was so happy to see my baby as it was our first child.
'But later, when I saw his fingers, I was shocked and surprised.'
The condition is known as polydactyly, a genetic disorder which can be inherited and gives rise to excess digits.
Most commonly, the extra digits appear on the little finger side of the hand.
Mrs Saxena said it was a family friend who convinced them Akshat was extremely special.
She said: 'He read on the internet about the baby born in China with 31 fingers.
'Then he said that my boy has broken the record of having 34 fingers. At first, I was not convinced at all. It was hard to believe that my son has broken the record.
'But later, he along with my husband and my younger sister registered the data in the Internet.'
The record was previously held by a six-year-old boy in China who had 15 fingers and 16 toes.
The child, who his family refused to name, also had surgery to remove his extra digits. He now has ten fingers and ten toes following a six-and-a-half hour operation at a hospital in Shenyang, Liaoning last March.

Final respect to Amy Winehouse R.I.P
Amy Winehouse's fans, friends and relatives have paid their last respects to the troubled singer.A convoy of vehicles, many with tinted windows, drew up at the Edgwarebury Cemetery in north London ahead of a private service.
Kelly Osbourne, wearing her hair in what appeared to be Amy's trademark beehive style, was among the famous faces invited to attend the ceremony.
Dressed in black and wearing a pair of dark glasses, she clutched a white rose in her hands as her car pulled up outside the leafy cemetery.
A gaggle of photographers, more used to capturing Amy's notorious appearances on stage and in the courthouse, lined the lane as mourners arrived.
They stood alongside a few dedicated fans who came to pay tribute to the 27-year-old, who was found dead at her home in Camden, north London, on Saturday.
The service comes after police revealed they will have to wait up to four weeks for the results of toxicology tests to establish her cause of death.
A post-mortem examination carried out yesterday was inconclusive.
Producer and DJ Mark Ronson walked in through the gates unaccompanied as the last mourners arrived to bid the star a final goodbye.
Yesterday, Amy's grieving parents made an emotional visit to her former home in Camden, north London, where she was found dead on Saturday.

Pastor nabbed for fingering women during prayer session
GHANA - A 29-year-old self-styled Man of God has been nabbed by the Adenta District Police Command for allegedly inserting his fingers into the private parts of five women under the pretext of praying for them.
Prophet Richard Addo, who claims to be a member of Word Miracle Church at Nungua, a suburb of Accra, was arrested after one of the women boldly reported the incident to the police.
As at press time yesterday, the five complainants had given their statements to the Adenta police about the alleged acts of Prophet Richard Addo.
According to information available to DAILY GUIDE, Prophet Addo also charged the women various amounts of money ranging from GH¢150 to GH¢200 and as well tried to ravage their bodies.
According to one of the victims (named with-held), she met the man of God in November 2010 on the street where he told her that he had had a vision in which a baby was walking behind her and crying.
"I then confessed to him that I have had an abortion before and he said that he will help me pray to break that bondage.
"We then made an appointment to meet at my hostel for prayers. Later, he asked me to give him G¢150 to purchase olive oil for the deliverance prayers while the remaining balance will also be used as seed money for prayer request."
According to her, during a subsequent prayer session, Prophet Richard Addo asked her to strip naked in a hotel room while he used the olive oil to rub her whole body, following which he inserted the olive oil into her vagina.
Another victim also narrated that Prophet Richard Addo after meeting her, said it had been revealed to him that she was barren.
"He made me to pay GH¢200 for olive oil and the rest to be used as prayer request fees."
She maintained that Prophet Richard Addo inserted four of his fingers into her private parts while praying for her.
Confirming the story to DAILY GUIDE, Adenta District Police Commander, DSP Stephen Kofi Ahiatafu, said the victims reported to the police on Monday February 14, 2011 about what they allegedly went through at the hands of the self-styled pastor.
He said one of the victims reported first to the station that the said man of God took her laptop, an amount of GH¢150 and fingered her as well under the pretext of praying for her.
DSP Ahiatafu said in all, five women, some of whom were married and others students, had lodged complaints against the pastor.
"After collecting money from them, Prophet Richard Addo then takes them to a hotel room, rubs olive oil on their bodies, and inserts his fingers into their private pans as well," the commander said.
He appealed to other women who might have fallen victim to his acts to report at the station.
When the self-styled man of God was asked to demonstrate how he did it, he said he inserted his four fingers into the women's vaginas with the help of the olive oil.

Ghanian Government orders arrest of Homosexuals
Ghana’s Western Region Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo MP has ordered the immediate arrest of all homosexuals in the country’s west.Aidooo has tasked Ghana’s Bureau of National Investigations and security forces to round up the country’s gay population and has called on landlords and tenants to inform on people they suspect of being homosexuals.
“All efforts are being made to get rid of these people in the society,” he said.
The move by the Minister follows months of campaigning by the Christian Council of Ghana which last week called on Ghanaians not to vote for any politician who believes in the rights of homosexuals.
Muslims and Christians in the Western Region have been staging protests ever since a local media report claimed there were around 8000 homosexuals and lesbians in the district.
However, a lawyer at Kwame Nkrumah University, Ernest Kofi Abotsie, questioned the legality of the move.
Abotsie said laws outlawing “unnatural canal knowledge” in the Ghanaian criminal code were ambiguous and had not been defined to mean homosexuality, and it was wrong for politicians to be telling police how to carry out their duties.

Her unexpected return to the house she left in unwieldy circumstances late 2009 came as a shock to neighbours, aides, close friends and relatives of the singer who thought she had moved on for good.
According to several impeccable sources, Payne’s startling about-face happened last Thursday when she came to the house demanding to see the father of her child but was prevented from entering.
“She called 9ice several times but he didn’t pick the call because he had been told she was at the gate. He came with a male friend even. What angered 9ice was that she didn’t pre-inform him of her visit, source says.
She left without blowing a fuse, only to return the following day. This time, Payne brought along with her the only product of the short-lived marriage, Zion, and she was allowed in without much ado. Payne was in the house until Wednesday morning. The source further says, “Throughout the time she spent in the house, she was always cooking, trying to worm her way back into 9ice’s heart but he didn’t eat the food because he’s trying to be careful.”
To underscore her return, she even invited the Soundcity crew over to the house to interview her artiste, Adol, which, multiple sources say, didn’t go down well with some of 9ice’s crew members. In all of these, 9ice has reportedly kept mum and remained indifferent to Payne’s schemes.
During her brief stay, it was learnt that 9ice’s parents also made surprise visits to him, lending credence to the insinuations that Payne might have begun the reconciliation process from the roots. Close watchers of the unfolding scenario are not totally surprised at her sudden transformation, far from her hitherto bellicose stance on anything 9ice, especially since she learnt that an Abuja-based lady now has a child by him.

Another of her tweet reads, “More than love is true friendship. This alone can withstand all the ups and downs and still keep us standing. Three years….God is great.” She adds, “Two steps backwards, 20 steps forward.”
Some curious followers pointedly told her to leave 9ice alone, thinking she was up to some mischief. She had to reply one of them that she is just an avid fan of his music. Since then, every of her tweet has been punctuated with lyrics and anecdotes from the singer’s songs. Then, when 9ice made a guest appearance on a radio programme on Wednesday morning, Payne was the first to let the world know; “Oya o, (it’s) good music time. Tune in to Rhythm 93.7 FM, 9ice in the building.” She posted several tweets, indicating that she was keenly following the programme. When E-Punch spoke with her shortly after the programme, she refused to comment, saying, “I’d rather keep my private life private.”
When contacted, 9ice’s manager, Dehinde Fajana, says he is not aware of the entire affair and, therefore, could not comment. He chips in however, “9ice is an intelligent young man who knows what he wants out of life. The Boko Haram sect has dropped another bombshell
The group said at the weekend that it has screened about 100 volunteers for sundry suicide attacks on high profile targets planned for 2011.
Some of the targets are the presidential villa, Vice President Namadi Sambo, Jigawa Governor, Sule Lamido, that of Niger, Babangida Aliyu; and former Speaker, Bello Massari.
The group also disclosed that for 2012, a larger number of faithful has been lined up for the fierce Jihad that would be occasioned by suicide bombings against what they tag illegal Federal and State governments of infidels.
Abu Zaid, spokesman for the group that has left in its trail tons of murdered citizens, and destruction of properties worth tens of millions of naira, maintained that their quest is total islamization of Nigeria, and not in just 12 northern states as reported in the media.
He said “we never made such statement we wanted sharia in 12 states. The person who said this was one Usman Al- Zawahiri , and we don't know him ...in fact our investigation revealed that he is SSS operative brought in to discredit us and give an impression we are divided . The group also disclosed that for 2012, a larger number of faithful has been lined up for the fierce Jihad that would be occasioned by suicide bombings against what they tag illegal Federal and State governments of infidels.
Abu Zaid, spokesman for the group that has left in its trail tons of murdered citizens, and destruction of properties worth tens of millions of naira, maintained that their quest is total islamization of Nigeria, and not in just 12 northern states as reported in the media.
He said “we never made such statement we wanted sharia in 12 states. The person who said this was one Usman Al- Zawahiri , and we don't know him ...in fact our investigation revealed that he is SSS operative brought in to discredit us and give an impression we are divided . I am the only spokesperson appointed by our Amir, Mallam Abubakar Shekau, that is why I gave you this video and pictures of the bomber which clearly shows I am the authentic spokesman for the group"
Zaid who spoke in Hausa, described the Force Headquarters attack as successful.

Reality show 'Next Nollywood Star' is a scam - Segun Arinze
National President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Segun Arinze, has condemned the invasion of Nollywood by some Americans to organize a reality show dubbed Next Nollywood Star.
Arinze claimed that the reality show, which involves America’s Tracey Moore and Samad Davies as instructor and director respectively, is designed to defraud unsuspecting Nigerian actors.
According to him, “Nollywood is an organized sector with guilds and associations for the entire nucleus that make up the motion picture industry, so no foreigner can come into the industry without partnership arrangement with relevant guilds/associations, therefore the said reality show is viewed as fraud.”
Presido, as Arinze is fondly called, noted that AGN encourages partnership and creative developments, but frowns at dubious and fraudulent methods of achieving it. He therefore urged both AGN members and prospective actors to ignore the reality show.

Van Vicker to clamp down on social network imposters
There is no doubt in the fact that social networking in this part of the world has done us both good and bad respectively. Twitter has brought fans closer to their celebrities and idols both locally and internationally, while Facebook has helped to bring together long time friends, new friends and a whole lot more. We shouldn’t be oblivious of the fact some people are using this social means for their evil deeds.
Multitalented actor Van Vicker who is not on face book and twitter complained on the extent at which people go to soil his hard earned reputation all in the name of social networking. Our findings show that the Ghanaian actor has about twenty three names registered with his identity and image on Facebook.
In a chat with the Globacom ambassador (Van Vicker) he revealed that “I just don’t get it, but why should these (fraudsters) guys ask for money from other people in my name? I’m not on Facebook and twitter” he yelled.
When asked how he plans to clamp down these fraudsters, the chief executive officer of the Van Vicker foundation and Sky + Orange replied. “I’ve sent out a team to investigate all these and hopefully, we will get all those involved in these God forsaken acts. It’s just a matter of time and I believe all will end well”. He added.

Annie Macaulay shares her past love with 2face
Annie in her usually excited mood opened up on her relationship with the popular music icon, 2Face Idibia, noting that her relationship with him was fruitful and enjoyable while it lasted. She said she is done with the relationship, adding that the only thing that is binding them together is their daughter. Parting ways with 2Face, according to Annie, marked a turning point in her life. " Since the separation, I have been getting scripts from the producers. Right now, I have scripts piled up in my bedroom; I don't even know how I'm going to go about the jobs because of the comfort of my daughter" she said.
