Xclusive Talent of the Edition
The talent we meet in this edition is a young, gifted rapper by the name Sanusi Adedapo Adetunji, with the stage name “D’Mode.” He is a 20 year old student of Babcock University where he is currently studying Business Administration. He is the first of two children and he attended Twins Nursery and Primary School, Isolo and Command Secondary School, Ibadan. He started singing at school events and activities in the year 2004 when he was in SS3.
He is a music lover and draws his music inspiration from great artistes Eldee, Delegation and Nate Dogg. His stage name “D’Mode” was given to him by his friends in reference to the title of his first album. “D’Mode” is the mode and mood he is always in when he is making music. D’mode is a music version of Dapo. He raps in English, Pidgin English and Yoruba. He does fast, clean rap, and sings choruses. He has recorded 6 tracks in all, part of which include “Askrambo”, “Bedrock” and “Klassic”, all produced by Bbbeats and is presently doing a mixtape with Korrect Media. He has worked with artistes like Shudi, Dexter, Baron D, Purple Haze among others and also with producers like DJ Tweek, Banky Beats, and Dexter. In the future, he hopes to sing on the international stage, own his own recording studio and work with internationally recognised artistes. He hopes to work with Eldee, MI, Tuface, Don Jazzy, Naeto-C and Sauce Kid. He will like to sign on Storm Records. After school, he wants to become a business mogul and work on his fashion.
When asked why he believes he should be and fits to be the talent of the edition, D’Mode responded, regarding himself as a complete brand of what a musician should be. He is planning to go into other aspects of entertainment like painting and fashion. He is currently working towards being one of the few artistes in Nigeria that you can refer to as complete and, if given the exposure that Xclusive provides, he would go places. Some of the other reasons for which he believes he should be the talent of the edition is his vocal strength, diction, flows and dynamism in his rap that is evident in his ability to rap in English, Pidgin English and Yoruba. He is also a Jack of many trades because, aside his music, he is also into fashion. He has a leather footwear line called “D’Mode by Papa”. His strongest argument on why he should be the Xclusive talent of the edition is the fact that he is a music lover and has a very good taste in music; an attribute he believes is rare amongst most of his upcoming counterparts. He believes he could also be the talent of the next edition because he has the assurance that the tracks that he is currently making with Korrect Media will be market hits.

Xclusive would bet a fortune that the tongues of the Nigerian music audience would be wet and their mouths forever watering until D’Mode cracks the shell. The audience will be willing to listen, afterall, as Darey would say, “style na style,” but lack of style is just a recipe for failure. So, let’s cut the guy some slack, afterall we are all trying to make it in one way or the other. And D’Mode is no one-way dude...he does it all. So, people, watch out for D’Mode, the Xclusive talent of this edition.
