Speaking from a personal point, when relationships fail, 80% of the blame goes to the guys and most times, the ladies find themselves are on the receiving end...why? Different guys have different reasons for cheating, and most girls still seek the answer to the question, “why do guys cheat?” Those that are unable to get the right answer to this question end up with the popular belief that all guys are the same. How true is this?
There are a lot of confusing questions asked by ladies concerning their guys, and ways to curb these lapses in their relationships. Well, given my level of experience in relationship matters, and also considering the fact that I used to play a lot of girls up until recently when I realised a lot of things, I have decided to share a little bit and to answer some of those questions.
I asked a few girls their opinions on why guys cheat in most relationships and got answers like:
· Guys are unsatisfied.
· Guys cheat to take the babe for granted.
· Guys cheat when they go out in search of something in their relationship that isn’t there.
· Guys cheat because they can’t stick to one babe.

· Guys cheat because love doesn’t exist anymore.
For me, I would consider all these answers as girls speaking their mind from their points of view and experiences. In other to leverage this relationship issue, I would also consider answers from the guys. Some say they cheat because;
· They want to look back and be proud of their conquests.
· Often times, they are being deprived of the necessities in a relationship.
· They feel they have met a better girl, which is most times the case.
· At a point, the relationship gets boring and they need more fun.
· They need to be ranked high amongst their group of friends.
Whatever the reason maybe, there are lots of reasons why guys cheat, and the ladies deserve to know why.
I cheated on my girlfriend for reasons I can’t explain; probably just for the fun of it. What we guys refuse to realise is that the other person has got feelings too; being in a relationship is not all about you, both parties are in it together. It’s like a stepping stone to the real thing. It is all about Trust, Dedication, Love, Commitment, Selflessness, and Patience. When all these are missing, it can never be called a relationship again. Both parties should be able to understand each other and sort out issues amicably. The thought of breaking up always comes to my mind anytime my partner and I have issues, but over the years, I have come to realise that there is more to any relationship than love and heart breaks.
Being able to overlook her wrong side and ills, thereby focusing on the positive side of her has given me the belief that I can go all the way with her, and I feel this is how we all should think. No relationship is perfect, even Pastors, Bishops, Priests and Prophets all have issues in their relationships and marriages, but the way such issues are handled by both parties would determine one’s level of maturity. Everyone should know his/her spouse’s in-and-out; his/her dos and don’ts; his/her likes and dislikes; and the guy should know the kind of things that keeps his girl loving him.
One mistake most Nigerian guys make is that they show all the love and care during what I call the Chase and Wooing Period - this extends a little bit into the first 2-3 months of the relationship. After the girl has opened up and giving her all, the level of love reduces, this is what I call the Relaxation period - the guy relaxes, and the girl begins to feel like she is the only one showing the love. All these eventually lead to heart breaks, cheating and so many other things.
This is just to let us all know that relationship is a two-way thing, and everyone needs to understand one another. For any relationship to work out, Patience should be the key word. I wish you all the best in your various relationships.
